After 5 CVS's to get my 2nd shot (they pass you off to another store. Finally the last one said no CVS for miles has it) So I see a Walgreens across the street. So I pop in, and they have it, I'm like 'you're kidding me' 'No I am not', 'Really?!?!' 'Yes, we just got 10 of them in this morning. They go very fast, there is a waiting list' So my insurance doesn't go thru cuz I'm out of network/state. So I ran home and called them, tried to get an override (said I was just down here visiting my mom, and the vaccine was really hard to get), and she approved it. Yesterday was the 1st day I could get it, cuz you have to wait 2- 6 months between shots. I needed to do it before I make it official that I am a Florida resident. BTW, the 2 shot series are about $175 each, but most insurance (which I won't have anymore very soon) covers it.
Some articles say 90% effective, some say 97%. If you've had the chicken pox, you have a whopping 1 in 3 chance of getting shingles. The complications, suffering, all kinds of possible permanent damage make it a must do. You must be 50+. The old Zostavax shot is 40- 50% effective, and wears off a lot sooner, like 10 yrs. But it's only suggested for 60+.
So before the Shingix saga, I spent 5 & 1/2 hours at the Honda dealership (got there at 7:10AM for a 7:25 appt) getting my A/C fixed. At least it was covered under my extended 4 yr warranty. Then saw a movie, Instant Family, at the clubhouse last night. It kinda sucked IMO, even though Rotten Tomatoes gave it an 82%. Anyway, the 2nd vaccine has wiped me out a bit, (achy and tired) very common side effects, especially if the 2nd shot is so close. Supposedly you body is still recovering from the 1st one. Unpacking can wait, or at least slow down.
