Here's a nice easy recipe that's also filling. Make some hard boiled eggs, toast & cream of chicken or cream of mushroom what ever you prefer. After the eggs are cooked slice one egg an place on a piece of toast, place the other slice of toast on top. Cut the toast into cubes & cover with the cream of chicken or cream of mushroom. Yummy, yummy!
Thats SOS Shit on a shingle. We love it.

This sounds like shit on the shingle for those who are to deprived to make shit or own a shingle That sounds like a 1:40 AM post. But I must agree, at least with the first part. Was that supposed to be 'depraved'? I meant deprived, i dont think depraved would fit. I was at work so wasnt drinking lol. But it was 1:40.

This sounds like shit on the shingle It could be but I don't think so. I remember my mom an some of my aunts & uncles eating what they called shit on the shingle but it had ground meat an some kind of milky sauce. I never ate that stuff cause it looked nasty to me. We had 2 kinds at my house, 1 was cream tip beef which is what SOS is. The other is what the kids called anything else we could not identify that was creamy. It all actually tasted pretty good tho.

Linda made some of her awesome meatloaf today with tater tots and I fried up some onions in butter yum yum. I made some killer banana pudding yesterday for desert, first time I ever made this an was surprised how well it turned out.

Please tell me you at least made this with fresh (or not-so-fresh) bananas, and not a packet in the Jello aisle.

Yes I did use fresh bananas and yes I did use some packets of instant banana pudding mix along with some cool whip, cream cheese, vanilla wafers and a splash of vanilla extract.

Sounds great except for the sausage, that would never happen w/me. But sounds a lot like my chili, aside from the 10 spices I use - nor the potatos or okra, or green beans - or beef broth, I use chicken. And no salt, it's already in there. So what do you call this mess?

I did so this time but next time I wont put so much. But the potatoes and sausage makes it! And gotta have green beans

Finally had to use some before they went bad, as that is a sin, last night - with the leftover reheated turkey leg and sweet potato fries/chip. I'd love a good stew, like my mom used to make, same carrots, taters, green beans, onions, celery, flanken (beef). No sausage or snotty phlegm (okra). Thinking about a green bean casserole. There is a place here called The Boys Farmers Market. There is a stand outside that has $1 bags of varied stuff every day, often peppers, tomatoes, lemons, green beans, eggplant, beets - you name it, often in perfect shape - well, perhaps peak of ripeness. But the green beans, it's 2 - 3 lbs, can't turn it down.

Too nutty. Came here cuz of DB's shout about a food section, and reviewed it. Well, my dinner last night was also a green bean 'before they go bad' meal. lol With sliced sirloin, onion, and lots of fresh basil (also before it goes bad, bought too much, 2 large bunches). Anyway, it was really delicious. Never made it before, but won't be the last.
