OLD RULE:
Roster Settings Each teams active roster will include the following 1 QB, 2 RB's, 2 WR's, 1 TE, 1 Flex (WR/RB) 1 Flex (WR/RB/TE), 1 Kicker, 1 Defense , 1 Reserve and 6 Bench (any position).
NEW RULE: 1 QB, 2 RB's, 2 WR's, 1 TE, 2 Flex (WR/RB/TE), 1 Kicker, 1 Defense , 2 Reserve and 6 Bench (any position). IOW, the same, no one will start 2 TEs, right? The YPC (yards per carry will be .4 (reduced from .5)).
In light of going down to 3 (vs. 4) keepers, and not being able to carry late round draft status upon trades, we will change the keepers to 7th (RBs & QBs), 8th (WRs), 9th (TEs, DEFs or Ks). If you want 4 keepers, speak up.
There is no limit to your drafting RBs or any other position. Any issues, please feel free to discuss.
Sadly, and I think most of us are aware that Steeler Jeffrey won't be returning to this league. The other person not returning is ronin13 (Mike), who didn't like the no limits on RBs. So I hope this suits everyone. If not say so.
EDIT: You wanna bench a DEF or K, I won't be mad, someone else please chime in on that.
EDIT 3/13: RESERVE/IR = 2, not 1.

I like the new rules just fine. Don't play a kicker I don't care.

I like the new rules just fine. Don't play a kicker I don't care. Game strategy. If it looks close, you pick up the kicker or DEF, and boohoo, gotta drop somebody. As long as everybody knows the rules, all's fair.

As long as everybody knows the rules, all's fair. A couple of times last year I did not have a kicker on Sunday morning. (couldn't find a fat one heehee). I made sure there was one available for Sunday night or Monday night on FA. If my game was a blow out I wouldn't worry about it but if it was close I would drop someone and pick up the kicker.

Oh, oh, oh....also definitely upping the kicker value. It's criminal a good one is getting 135 - 140 pts. So gonna make the PAT 1.5 pts (vs. the 1 pt that is standard scoring), and probably throw an extra bonus point (6 vs. 5) to a kick over 50 yds. Maybe an slight upgrade to WRs. The DEF looks good. Nothing you can do about TEs.
I texted DanB 3/10 about returning, no hear back. Indydave's email bounced, no good. I will advertise a spot and maybe 2 on PSR. If anyone has another idea, please post it. We could ask Miss & Mr. Lacy. ya think either would be game? They've had other opportunities so IDK.

I thought the 4 way call had the best way to correct the hoarding of the RB's was by having 3 WR positions & 1 RB/WR/TE Flex. The YPC (yards per carry will be .4 (reduced from .5)). This is just a small part an will not fix the whole problem see above. we will change the keepers to 7th (RBs & QBs), 8th (WRs), 9th (TEs, DEFs or Ks). The values were fine changing to 7th(QB's &RB's), 8th (WR's ),9th (TE's DEF-K's) does nothing to fix the problem see 1st sentence above.

It's like 6 of one, half dozen of the other with the settings and how it might affect anyone's draft strategy. IOW with .4 makes RBs slightly less valuable. Max 3 RB to start (and keeping the .5) does the same. I'll do it your way, and the way we all discussed, it's fine. With 3 WRs though, now IDK if slightly increasing their value is necessary. Tops are well below RBs and WRs are far more plentiful. But the drop-off in points, like in the top 25 or 30 is not as sharp as RBs. My desire to change to 7-8-9 had nothing to do with the RB issue. It was strictly a matter of adding some value to keepers, in light of there only being 3, just a 10 peep league, and the late round keeper won't carry over on a trade. It seemed grossly unfair to carry them over forever - even though everyone had the same chance at that kind of luck, right? Thanks.

I made some minor changes to the constitution. Please read, and feel free to chime in. And in light of the 3 max RB usage per week, the carries will stay at .5.

I'd consider staying if we have a 3rd WR & take away the WR/RB flex.

I'd consider staying if we have a 3rd WR & take away the WR/RB flex. YAY! Can't believe I missed this. Is it good what I posted in the constitution changes? Like make it 2 RB, 3 WR, and just 1 WRT flex? We talked about this, and agreed it's a good solution. EDIT: You can have your LM status back if you like. If too big a PITA, I can make you co-LM, and keep Craig in there as well, or give him the boot. lol Really, probably no harm in having 3 LMs.

I’m just thinking out loud here but maybe we should simplify the keeper rules in this league so it won’t be so hard to keep up with.

I’m just thinking out loud here but maybe we should simplify the keeper rules in this league so it won’t be so hard to keep up with. As long as you're thinking... any ideas? One method I've heard of has your 3 keepers taking up your first 3 rounds. Holy cow, hope you hate that idea as much as I do, completely different strategy. I suppose you can have 2 players of the same round not allowed to both be kept. That would suck. Really, it's not complicated, but just a little time consuming (maybe 3 - 5 hours?) coming up with the list of 1) who needs to be dropped, and 2) their draft round status. Cuz for that, you have to look up every player and their draft and trade history for the last 2 years. And we're entering the 3rd season, so definitely not as easy as last year. Thank you Steelers 1954, I know how tough this is. Also there's the rule about not being able to keep the same player within 3 years. If you acquire him back in a trade 2 years later, why not? I think we should drop that rule. It just seems silly and arbitrary to me.

New keeper rules. Please check the OP. Late round keepers upgraded beyond 7-8-9. Depending on where drafted of course.

Round 12 -3 rounds making it a 9th round pick Round 11 -2 rounds making it a 9th round pick Round 10 - 2 rounds making it an 8th round pick Earlier round picks will not be adjusted. I should've caught this earlier, but this needs to be adjusted. You can't have a round 9 draft pick retaining round 9 status, while not only do rounds 11 & 12 get reduced to 9th, but round 10 gets reduced to 8th. This would affect a few trades here, particularly one that could happen shortly with 3 QBs in those ranges that need to be dropped, so we should see at least one trade. Thinking round 12 should be a 10th for starters. And a 10th cannot become an 8th either unless a 9th also becomes an 8th. I will work on this with the help of Steelers 1954 very, very soon.

A.)Players drafted in rounds 1-9 will retain their draft round.NEW RULES for traded keeper round status:
Round 16 -3 rounds making it a 13th round pick
Round 15 -3 rounds making it a 12th round pick
Round 14 -3 rounds making it a 11th round pick
Round 13 -3 rounds making it a 10th round pick
Round 12 -3 rounds making it a 9th round pick
Round 11 -2 rounds making it a 9th round pick
Round 10 - 2 rounds making it an 8th round pick
Earlier round picks will not be adjusted.
Okay, how about this?... Round 16 becomes 13th (3 rounds) Round 15 becomes 12th (3 rounds) Round 14 becomes 11th (3 rounds) Round 13 becomes 11th (2 rounds) Round 12 becomes 10th (2 rounds) Round 11 becomes 10th (1 round) Round 10 becomes 9th (1 round) Then 9th and under retains original draft status. We should probably leave what is posted in the OP at this late date, just for this year? Agreed?
