gosh I seem to just have so much gloom lately. I'm sorry but not sorry. I need a place to vent and let go and this place seems to be it. My bro in law, but more like a brother Craig J. Broderick is fighting for his life in Utah. Brody as we call him, is one of the most honest, fair, loving, giving, devoted, hard working, people I have ever met. We all are devistated. I'm bawling as I type this. Marlene is a total wreck. She loves him like a brother. It's amazing what a differance a day can make. One minute he's shreading down the mountain and the next minute he looking at death or paralization.
If you don't know what I'm talking about I posted in the superbowl squares thread.
I'm at their house taking care of my mom. That is really frustrating. She is in and out of reality. I have put off my heart procedure until further notice. Thanks for listening.

Wow, I posted in the other thread just minutes ago, but somehow, thinking/hoping it was not this serious. That really sucks. Hey, hopefully a bit of youth on his side. Keep us posted. I'm always here if ya need to talk.Getting a bit tired though. Think of all this as exercise for your heart. ;-P

Divebitch just talked to my sister. He was at Alta, Eddies run. I guess they release the skiers one at time and you go down a one lane trail to the run. The guy in front of him had stopped. So instead of ramming him and pushing him over the thirty foot cliff, Craig tried to go around. There was not room and he went over the cliff. Fell thirty feet and landed on his head. His helmet saved his life. They life flighted him out. The next 48 hours is crucial. They need to keep his blood pressure up to get good flow to his spine. This could of happened to me or probably you Bev. I was a good skier also, not nearly like him, but I took my risks. Copied below Eddie’s High Nowhere – Hard to catch fresh but if you’re one of the first 10 people dropping in to this line you’ll be rewarded with the most back to back pow turns on the mountain. Skiers beware though, accessing this run requires some serious traversing skills. I guess it was closed the day before due to excessive snow and avalanch possibility. Craig spent the night in his truck in the parking lot to be one of the first ten. One of his bucket list.

This makes no sense to me. Brody was a professional skier. He was as at home on the slopes as he was taking a crap. I might be going on a Doc rant here, because I'm really hurting.

I'm getting sick thinking about it too. Wish there was something I could say to make it all go away. There is no good time for bad timing. I've been a risk taker all my life, and shudder to think of 1,000 situations I knowingly put myself in that could've easily ended very badly. Is he conscious? Speaking of conscious, I'm just waking up, too early. Silly question, but is this your sister's kids' father?

He's doing amazing for only three days. He moved his fingers today in a video I saw. Barely moved them but did so well he made his physical Theropist cry. She said people with spinal injuries like this do not do this so fast. He said "can I stand up?" she said "No" He smiled. Made me cry again. They did physically pick him up and held him as he was vertical. Amazing. I'm so hopeful for his future. Gonna be a long haul but he's gonna walk again, i just know it.

Any guesses as to when he'll be able to come home? Would he be living in a rehab facility for awhile? Is there anyone entrusted to run the restaurant yet?

I might be going on a Doc rant here, because I'm really hurting Nowhere close to a Doc rant. You're going about it the right way by letting us know what's happened. When you're hurting friends are there to lift you up not tear you down.

Brody is doing really good. Still can't walk as his right leg is not wanting to play. He's in good spirits and is a very strong man. I have faith that he will make a great comeback. Thanks for the prayers. I'm hoping they can move him to San Diego soon. My sister and her sons need to come home. We have moved my mom to my older sisters house down on the bay. I'm going in Thursday for an angiogram. I'll be in the hospital Thursday and Friday. Hope to get some improvement in my quality of life.
Thanks for being here.
Craig .

They moved my procedure up to tomorrow. So I will be in hospital Thursday and Friday. Funny they pushed it up due to the cardiologist tagging me as urgent. Tomorrow is also three years to the day since my open heart surgery.

Starting posting this yesterday, damn, got distracted by 2 calls. Hope your procedure goes well. Check in soon! Call me if you're bored. IDK if you'll have as many visitors with everyone tied up or out of town.

Why are you tagged as urgent Craig? What procedure? I guess due to my very abnormal nuclear stress test. I had my procedure yesterday. THey took two hours in what they said would be one hour. Anyway they put in three stints in two main arteries. My left main artery was compeletly blocked. I am suppose to feel much much better. Well I'm waiting. haha only been less than twenty four hours so I'll have patience. I'm home now and dealing with pharmacies.

Why did it take 2 hours when they expected 1? Did they find anything they didn't expect? Like didn't they already know your left artery was completely blocked? Glad they found you well enough to send you home.
