Had my nuclear stress test today. I survived, barely. So my tests are complete. and my new cardiologist will review everything and we will meet the 22 of Jan. I'm kind of excited and kind of not. I don't know if I would let them split my chest again, but I should be way better than I am after open heart, four by pass surgery. I'm not that old and everyone I know who has had the same surgery as me is kicking ass. My new guy said he even was going to review the surgery and angiograph videos. I didn't even know there was such videos. I think I love my new guy.

Well sounds like that's more than your old doctor did for you. Glad you found someone who's at least listening to you & the problems you're having. Once he gets all the info I bet he'll get you feeling better & doing more than what you've been doing.

Glad you found someone a bit more progressive, and cares enough to not be lazy. Keep us posted.

Glad you found someone a bit more progressive, and cares enough to not be lazy. Keep us posted. This nailed it dive. Yes I did. This imaging floor I went to was incredible. The team doing this was like a fine oiled machine. It only took three hours. Dang I feel great right now. Maybe my old doctor was wrong and I can work out! Either that or the radiation is fun.

Sure hope you nip this is the bud Craig.
Im trying not to end up like that or eve worse like my Dad.
My dad can barely even walk across the room anymore.
I didnt mention this before but back when we took vacation I did go see him in SC and hes really bad off. I dont think hes got more than 5 years left at most. I pray for him. But I know its just a matter of time.
Hes got emphysema really bad and hes had it for around 15 years so hes been living with it for quite some time. I know he has faith in God and even though hes never been the faith type he is now and has been for at least the last 6 or 7 years.
Hes always ragging me about smoking and it does get on my nerves sometimes but I do know why he does it. I beat it into my kids and grandkids brains too to never start smoking or for that matter do any type of drugs.
Beer is okay. HAhaha
But its funny how smoking affects people differently. Some, they get lung cancer, some get emphysema, some get COPD (my Mom) and some have heart attacks. Some get heart disease, some have strokes and etc etc.
I dont know how smoking for 40 years will affect me yet but I do feel the effects of it at 53. I hope someday I can kick this nasty habit,as sometimes it takes control of me like a heroin user or something.
I can cut way back at times to only like a half pack a day or less and then go right back to a pack a day later.
So Im praying for ya Craig as I know it must be difficult dealing with this, and I know someday I will be so mad at myself for having done this to my body.

Got a surprise call from the cardiologist just now. My stress test is what he called "Positive" and he feels is reversible. He told me not to do anything strenuous as of now. He said it pretty serious and a massive heart attack is in my future unless we so something. I'm to see him Tuesday instead of two weeks from now. He wants to go in and put in some stints I think. They don't open my chest to do that, they go in thru the groin. I've done it twice already and my old quack did nothing while in there. He thinks he can fix me. I'm so excited I'm shaking.

So Im praying for ya Craig as I know it must be difficult dealing with this, and I know someday I will be so mad at myself for having done this to my body. I smoked for almost exactly 40 years too. Although I did quit once for 3 years, and another time for a year. With no regular exercise, like I did thru my 30s, I felt headed for COPD city, with the Albuterol never far from reach. Scary feeling, like what if you didn't have it, and how on earth could an otherwise perfectly healthy person destroy their own body? It's an abomination. I'll call it an affront to God if it helps you quit. lol The addiction is worse that heroin, cuz it's so mentally intertwined in everything you do, all day long. Finally kicked it 4 & 1/2 years ago with the help of free counseling and patches from the U of Penn. Not everyone gets all that, but the most important thing is the will to quit. There are programs, meetings, vids, all sorts of tools anyone can access. Patches and meds are more and more frequently covered by insurance too. It's the best thing I ever did for myself. Glad you got a pair of fresh eyes (and mind), and hopefully a new lease on a longer, more 'stress-free' life.

My wife hosted a dinner party for all our friends, some of whom we hadn’t seen for ages and everyone was encouraged to bring their children along as well. [] All throughout dinner my wife’s best friend’s four-year-old daughter stared at me as I sat opposite her. The girl could hardly eat her food for staring. I checked my shirt for spots, felt my face for food, and patted my hair in place, but nothing stopped her from staring at me. Finally I asked her, “Why are you staring at me?” Everyone at the table had noticed her behavior, and the table went quiet, waiting for her response. The little girl said, “I’m just waiting to see how you drink like a fish.”

Oh by the way Eddie called me today and left a long message. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to get a game plan as to what to do. My tests the last two weeks were not good. So I text Eddie back to tell him I can't deal with outside stress right now. He was polite in his message. GO CHARGERS. I posted this post from the music thread. So 1) your Dr's appt was today, right? I thought he was so upbeat and positive that he could fix you. Now you say your tests the past couple weeks were not good. So how did it go today? 2) What did Eddie have to say? "polite" the first time, or in his reply to your text?

Eddie left a message before my text. I didn't answer the phone and that kind of pisses him off. By polite I mean polite for him. The stress test was "very very abnormal" Thus the sped up appointment today for consultation. They are scheduling me for an angiogram. I've had two before but not for two years. They go in thru my groin with a camera and they have tools that can do work. They think one of my by passes or graphs as they call them is pinched and they think they can fix it. It's a piece of cake operation compared to open heart.
I think I need to give the scheduler a playoff schedule cuz I'm not missing the Chargers games on the way to winning the super bowl.

He still sounded a little ticked, unbelievable. Like you owe him a phone call, anytime, anywhere. Ticked is the perfect word too, like a time bomb. Anyway, so it's not bad that your test was very abnormal, like maybe it helped them figure out why? Angiogram can be done anytime I guess, outpatient, right? Glad they seem to have a grip on it, no pun intended. IDK if your heart will be able to take it for the 2 week leading up to the SB, so I'd say do it right after the AFC championship.

Out patient depends on what the find and do. May have to spend the night. I actually hope that is the case. Last time they did nothing. Better if there is something they can do like a stint or something.

Putting in my fan duel roster. I can have Mahomes or Brees. I have Mahomes in now but thinking of changing it. What you losers think? haha.

Putting in my fan duel roster. I can have Mahomes or Brees. I have Mahomes in now but thinking of changing it. What you losers think? haha. I would say Mahomes if it was these 2 in the SB. This week, eh... Their opponent DEFs are similar. both middle of the pack. But the Rams are slightly better at pass D, and slightly worse at run D than the Pats. Does that mean it'll be the Alvin Kamara show? Probably not (nod to Brees). Does it mean Mahomes will be slinging it more with a so-so Pats secondary, especially with a new-ish backup RB? Not necessarily (no nods lol). Guess what I'm trying to say is that on paper, and in consideration of the RBs talent or lack thereof, nod goes to Mahomes. OTOH, Brees does love to spread it around. IDK, I'd probably go Mahomes. And okay, here's another why.... If KC should be playing from behind cuz their DEF is trash, and can't keep Brady & Co off the field, they might get behind. Let's hope that doesn't happen, and their fans will do everything they can to stop it. Have I been too thorough here, ya know, for a loser?
